AI Automation in Frankfurt
AI automation hands repeatable office work, such as reading an invoice or routing a customer inquiry, to a system built from a language model and ordinary software. Companies in Frankfurt run it from banks to small businesses, and the people who build these systems meet at Finance Loop events in the city.
What companies automate with AI
The first processes to go are document-heavy and repetitive: invoices that must be read and booked, contracts and KYC files checked against a list of fields, e-mails routed to the right desk, and monthly reports drafted from the same sources. A language model reads the unstructured document. Conventional software checks the result against fixed rules and writes it into the target system.
Not every process needs a model. Aeon Automation, a studio in Frankfurt, says on its website that it tells clients which processes need AI and which do not. That is the first question in any project, because a fixed rule is cheaper and easier to audit than a model.
The market in Frankfurt and Germany
German companies adopted AI quickly: Destatis counted 20 percent of companies using AI in 2024, up from 12 percent in 2023. Frankfurt adds the regulated side. Banks, insurers and asset managers there answer to the ECB, the Bundesbank and BaFin, so an automated process in finance has to leave an audit trail. BaFin published guidance on ICT risks when financial companies use AI on December 18, 2025 (report in IT Finanzmagazin, in German), and Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers to give the people who operate AI systems enough AI literacy.
Companies that build it in Frankfurt
Several companies that work on automation teach at the Claude Hacker House. Aeon Automation builds AI agents, document intelligence and invoice processing for operations teams. Qemie is an AI automation agency and workshop organizer. Gateflow connects AI agents to approved tools and automates customer inquiries for small and midsize companies. Flowistic builds production AI systems for financial markets. Each page describes the company as its own website does; Finance Loop sells none of these services.
Upcoming AI events in Frankfurt
Where to meet the people who build it
The Claude Hacker House is a hands-on series in Frankfurt in which practitioners build agents and workflows with Claude. Frankfurt Data Science holds practice-oriented AI and data meetups, Finteda hosts invitation-only sessions for finance and technology practitioners, and TechQuartier near the financial district hosts many of them. Current dates are in the calendar above.
What is AI automation?
AI automation is the use of AI models inside a business process so that work a person did by hand, such as reading a document or answering a routine inquiry, runs without that person. Conventional rules still govern the steps around the model.
Which rules apply to AI automation in a German bank?
GDPR for personal data, the EU AI Act for the AI system, and DORA for ICT risk, including AI services bought from third parties. BaFin supervises the result. The AI governance in banking page goes through them.
