AI Courses for Finance Professionals

AI courses for finance professionals teach prompting, data analysis and agents on the work of a bank, insurer or finance department: credit analysis, compliance checks, client letters and reports. Since February 2, 2025, the EU AI Act also asks firms that use AI to see that their staff know enough about it. Event dates are in the calendar further down.

Courses built for banking staff

Some providers build AI courses for banks only. Hapax launched the AI Certification for Bankers, a free, self-paced course for staff of banks and credit unions, from analysts to executives. It covers workflow design, risk management, vendor evaluation, data quality and regulatory expectations in lending, compliance and operations. BankersHub publishes AI in Action, a quarterly microlearning series with editions of under 30 minutes on prompting, data analysis, responsible use and AI agents, written for operations, lending, compliance and leadership roles without a technical background.

On-site formats take a day. The one-day course of AI Awareness for banking and finance runs six to seven hours at the client's premises in the UK and works through prompts for credit analysis, deal screening, client profiling, AML and operations.

The AI literacy duty

Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers of AI systems to take measures so that their staff have a sufficient level of AI literacy, taking into account their technical knowledge, experience, education and training and the context in which the systems are used. The article has applied since February 2, 2025. A bank that gives its departments a chat assistant is a deployer, and a record of who was trained on what helps it show that it took such measures. The page on the EU AI Act in financial services covers the other duties.
