Resistant AI fraud detection for documents and transactions

Resistant AI is a Prague company that checks the documents customers upload, such as bank statements, payslips and company papers, for forgery and for fakes made with generative AI. A second product adds AI models to the transaction monitoring a bank or fintech already runs.

Resistant AI's founders and customers

Martin Rehak and his co-founders started Resistant AI in Prague in February 2019. They had earlier sold the security startup Cognitive Security to Cisco in 2013 (TechCrunch). In 2025 the company raised a $25 million Series B; investors include DTCP, GV and Index Ventures, and customers include Payoneer, Close Brothers, AXA, Bank of Valletta and Finom (Tech.eu). Its founders specialize in machine learning for financial crime detection.

Document fraud and generative AI

Lenders and fintechs approve accounts and loans on the strength of uploaded files. Resistant Documents inspects each file for edits and for traces of generative AI, and the company says it verifies KYB documents in under 20 seconds (Resistant AI). Deepfake onboarding attacks covers the same threat at the identity check.

AI on top of transaction monitoring

Resistant Transactions runs next to an existing monitoring system and does not replace it (Resistant AI). The company names money muling, authorized push payment fraud, synthetic company identities and complex laundering schemes as targets (Tech.eu). The business account provider Finom added it to its AML engine; Finom handles more than €4 billion in transactions a year, and its head of risk says the team talks to Resistant AI whenever it plans a new country (Resistant AI). Money mules and transaction monitoring for AML explain both duties.
