Crypto Course for Finance Professionals
A crypto course teaches how bitcoin and other crypto-assets work, how they are held and traded, and which rules apply to them. The offers range from free online lectures to paid one-day seminars. Finance Loop teaches its own course, the one-day masterclass Bitcoin for Investors, held in German.
Free lectures and specialist programs
A free option is Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies by Princeton University on Coursera, taught by Arvind Narayanan. Its eleven modules run from how bitcoin achieves decentralization and how coins are stored to mining, anonymity, regulation and altcoins, at about 20 hours of work. It is a technology course, and Coursera states that it awards no certificate.
Paid programs aim at finance staff. The Corporate Finance Institute lists its own self-paced Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets Specialist program, an intermediate course on altcoins, stablecoins, CBDCs and NFTs, and the six-week certificate program Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets of the Wharton School.
Seminars for compliance staff and investors
In Germany and Austria, business schools and exchanges teach crypto in short seminars. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (in German) runs a one-day seminar in German, in Frankfurt or online, for compliance, legal and finance staff at fintechs and financial institutions, with MiCA, crypto AML, KYC and blockchain analytics on the agenda.
The Wiener Börse Akademie (in German) runs crypto web seminars for investors. Its follow-up seminar on crypto-assets and DeFi covers lending, decentralized exchanges, staking and the taxation of crypto trades, shows real transactions live and counts toward Certified Financial Planner and MiFID II credits. Deutsche Börse (in German) added an evening online seminar on bitcoin as an investment for private investors.
