TUM Blockchain Club: The Student Blockchain Club in Munich
The TUM Blockchain Club is a legally registered non-profit organization under German law and an officially accredited student club at the Technical University of Munich. By its own account it is the biggest student-run blockchain club in Germany. Its motto is "Empowering People's Technology."
Its mission is to advance the student blockchain ecosystem and to create a community of academics, students, and professionals who support each other on their missions to use blockchain for good. Members work in departments such as Education, Industry, Web3 Talents, IT & Dev, and External Affairs. The club has organized more than 50 events, and its teams have won 16 hackathons. TUM Blockchain Club membership is open to all university students in Munich who join a department for at least two semesters.
TUM Blockchain Conference 2026 in Munich
From October 29 to 31, 2026, the TUM Blockchain Club holds the TUM Blockchain Conference 26 at the House of Communication Munich. The conference is "born at TUM" and "built for the entire blockchain ecosystem": students, developers, researchers, founders, policymakers, and industry leaders meet there. October 29 is the main conference day, with talks and panels from zero-knowledge cryptography to production systems.
On October 30, Bundesblock curates the Digital Assets Day for policymakers, regulators, financial institutions, and corporates. On October 30 and 31, builders of every skill level compete in the TUM Blockchain & AI Hackathon for €4,000 in prizes. The TUM Blockchain Conference 2025 drew more than 1,200 attendees and over 125 speakers, with 57 talks and 12 panels. The conference takes place every year; dates for the TUM Blockchain Conference 2027, the TUM Blockchain Conference 27, are not yet published.
Web3 Talents Program
Web3 Talents is a 20-week online education program for people who want to understand blockchain technology better. The program is run by the TUM Blockchain Club and it is free of charge. Its two courses, Blockchain Fundamentals and Web3 Applications, are peer-led and live, and no prior experience is needed.
The Web3 Talents program combines structured learning, expert input, and practical exchange. Participants can build relevant knowledge, expand their network, and earn a certificate after completion.
How the TUM Blockchain Club works
The club lists 57 active members on tum-blockchain.com, organized in eight departments: Marketing, Education, Legal & Finance, Web3 Talents, IT & Development, External Affairs, Industry and Research. New members start with the Blockchain Bootcamp, which goes from the basics to smart contracts. In industry projects each semester, students work on a question from a company, and TUM blockchain research runs in the Research department.
Industry partners named on the club's site include Solana, Polkadot, Filecoin Foundation, 1inch, Staking Facility and Superteam Germany. The club's teams take part in hackathons and have won 16 of them.
Blockchain in Munich
Munich has a blockchain scene of its own, separate from the banking center in Frankfurt. Allianz, Munich Re and Generali Deutschland have their headquarters in the city, and W3MUC runs the city's web3 hub with events on blockchain and digital assets. In the German-speaking countries, the TUM Blockchain Conference is one of the large blockchain conferences, next to the Crypto Assets Conference in Frankfurt and Vienna Blockchain Week. Its Digital Assets Day, curated by Bundesblock, speaks to banks, regulators and the public sector on digital capital markets, stablecoins and payments, and tokenization.

Finance Loop lists the club's Web3 Talents program on its academy page. Web3 Talents was one of the supporters of TechClub 25/3, the fintech and crypto afterwork party at TechQuartier in Frankfurt in March 2025.
Who can join the TUM Blockchain Club?

Blockchain education and the Digital Assets Day belong to the Investment & Digital Assets track, whose people meet at Finance Loop events in Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin.
Finance Loop is a professional network and has the goal of driving the adoption of emerging technologies in finance, such as AI, tokenization, stablecoins, and DeFi. Finance Loop helps its members build skills and personal networks in these fields: Investment & Digital Assets, Payments & Digital Money, and Risk & Compliance.
