Galaxy
Galaxy, long known as Galaxy Digital, is a financial services firm for digital assets with its head office in New York City and offices in North America, Europe and Asia. Michael Novogratz founded the firm in 2018 and leads it as chief executive. Galaxy runs two businesses: digital assets, with trading, lending, asset management and onchain services, and data centers for AI and high-performance computing.
The shares of Galaxy Digital Inc., a company incorporated in Delaware, trade on Nasdaq under the symbol GLXY. Galaxy moved its listing to Nasdaq in May 2025 and left the Toronto Stock Exchange after the close of trading on 19 March 2026.
A founding partner of AllUnity
Galaxy, the asset manager DWS and the market maker Flow Traders announced on 13 December 2023 that they would found AllUnity, a company for a fully collateralized euro stablecoin. Galaxy brought the technical infrastructure, and its subsidiary GK8 licensed its tokenization and custody technology to AllUnity for the development of the stablecoin. Michael Novogratz said at the time that the partnership would move the growth strategy of Galaxy forward.
AllUnity received its e-money institution license from BaFin on 1 July 2025 and launched the euro stablecoin EURAU from Frankfurt on 31 July 2025. Under MiCA, a token that holders can redeem at par for euros is an e-money token, and only a bank or an e-money institution may issue it in the EU.
Trading, lending and custody of digital assets
The Global Markets unit trades digital assets with institutional clients and offers lending, derivatives, prime services and investment banking. Galaxy reports more than 1,700 institutional trading counterparties and an average loan book of 1.4 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2026. Its onchain infrastructure covers custody, staking and tokenization, and GalaxyOne lets investors hold cash, crypto, equities and yield products in one account.
The asset management arm runs alternative funds and ETFs as well as the venture units Galaxy Ventures and Galaxy Interactive. Bloomberg publishes the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index, which it built with Galaxy and which tracks the largest crypto assets. In a warehouse facility of 500 million dollars from Grove for Galaxy Digital, the oracle Chronicle reads collateral balances from the custodians Anchorage Digital and BitGo.
Helios, a data center campus for AI
The second business of Galaxy builds and runs data centers for AI and high-performance computing. Its Helios campus has more than 1.6 gigawatts of approved power capacity, according to the figures the firm published for June 2026.
