Payment cards and mobile-wallet tokens
IDEMIA Secure Transactions is the IDEMIA Group division for payment and connectivity solutions. It says more than 2,000 customers in 150 countries use it, among them financial institutions, fintechs and mobile network operators. IDEMIA's head office is in Courbevoie, France, and its list of locations includes Bochum and Flintbek in Germany (IDEMIA).
Tokenization and agentic commerce
Card networks and banks use IDEMIA's payment tokenization to load cards into mobile wallets; IDEMIA says its clients have provisioned hundreds of millions of payment tokens this way (IDEMIA). In Belgium, the employee benefits fintech Monizze uses IST's token platform and NFC wallet technology so that users pay with meal and gift vouchers from its app, independent of the large international wallets (IDEMIA). IST also sells an agentic commerce product: domestic schemes and private-label issuers use its token platform and FIDO2 authentication to secure purchases that AI agents start (IDEMIA). Network tokenization and agentic payments cover both topics.
AI-designed cards with BBVA
BBVA customers in Spain can create a card image with generative AI in the bank's app, from a written prompt or an uploaded photo. BBVA built the AI part; IST manufactures and personalizes the physical and digital cards, and the two plan a wider international rollout (IDEMIA). Card payments in Germany covers the card market here.
