stakefish

stakefish is a staking company that runs validators for proof-of-stake blockchains such as Ethereum, Solana and Cosmos. Holders and institutions delegate their tokens to these validators and receive the network rewards, while stakefish never takes custody of the tokens. Chun Wang, who co-founded the Bitcoin mining pool f2pool in 2013, launched stakefish in 2018 as one of the early staking pools.

On Ethereum each validator needs a deposit of 32 ETH, and stakefish operates these validators for clients who keep control of their withdrawal address. The team is spread across time zones so that someone watches the nodes around the clock, and the company states SOC 2 compliance. Since 2019 stakefish has also been a node operator for Chainlink and reports prices to its data feeds.

Ethereum and Solana staking

For Ethereum, stakefish offers classic staking with a deposit of 32 ETH per validator, the minimum the protocol sets. Under its Ethereum staking terms, stakefish charges no commission on protocol rewards and keeps half of the tips and MEV rewards that a validator earns when it proposes a block. The client holds the withdrawal credentials, so the stake can only flow back to an address the client controls.

Beyond Ethereum, stakefish runs validators for Solana, Cosmos, Tezos, Polygon, NEAR, Starknet and Monad. Through the Babylon protocol it also offers staking of bitcoin, which secures other proof-of-stake chains with BTC as collateral. Wallets, exchanges, custodians and treasury managers connect through a multi-chain staking API and SDK.

stakefish as a Chainlink node operator

CryptoSlate reported in July 2019 that stakefish had joined Chainlink as a reviewed node operator, a status the Chainlink team gave operators after checking them. The node fetches prices from data providers, signs them and sends them to the oracle networks, which combine the answers of many operators into one value.

On Ethereum mainnet, stakefish appears under the name stake.fish among the oracles of the ETH/USD price feed. The node also answers the BTC/USD, USDC/USD, USDT/USD, DAI/USD, AAVE/USD and SOL/USD feeds. Such prices decide, for example, when a lending protocol liquidates a loan whose collateral has lost value.

LINK staking through stake.link

stake.link is a delegated liquid staking protocol for LINK that LinkPool built on top of Chainlink staking. Holders deposit LINK, the protocol spreads it across its member operators, and depositors receive the receipt token stLINK, which they can use elsewhere in DeFi. stakefish was one of 14 node operators that formed the first group of stake.link in December 2022.

In the same month stakefish pointed LINK holders to stake.link as the way to stake with stakefish and earn staking rewards.

Who founded stakefish?

Chun Wang founded stakefish in 2018 and leads the company as chief executive. In 2013 he had co-founded f2pool, a mining pool for Bitcoin and other proof-of-work coins. The first protocols that stakefish supported included Cosmos, Tezos, Polygon and Ethereum.

Staking SOL from a Solana wallet

A holder of SOL connects a Solana wallet to the stakefish Staking Dashboard and delegates to the stakefish validator. The SOL stays in the wallet of the holder, and the network credits the rewards after each epoch. Unstaking takes effect at the end of the current epoch, after which the SOL can be moved again.

Is staking with stakefish safe?

stakefish does not hold client assets, and stakers keep control of their keys, so the main risks are validator downtime and slashing. After the NPM supply chain incident and the SwissBorg incident in September 2025, stakefish stated that its staking services were not affected. The company names multi-cloud deployments, zero-trust access, hardened key management and staged software rollouts as its safeguards.

Which platforms work with stakefish?

stakefish runs validators for the liquid staking protocol Lido as one of its node operators. The company also names the custodian BitGo and the restaking protocol ether.fi as partners.
