Coinfinity

Coinfinity is a broker from Graz that sells only bitcoin, through an app and a web portal with savings plans, an in-app wallet and purchases of satoshis over the Lightning Network. Coinfinity advertises a spread of 0 percent and publishes free introductions to bitcoin called Bitcoin Blinks, along with longer research papers.

The company has been active since 2014 and calls itself the oldest bitcoin broker in Austria, led by co-founder and managing director Max Tertinegg. The Austrian Financial Market Authority FMA authorized Coinfinity GmbH under MiCA on 19 December 2025, which replaced its national registration of 2019.

A broker for bitcoin only

Coinfinity sells only bitcoin today, and its motto is Bringing Bitcoin to the People, as Trending Topics reported (in German) on the license. Next to Max Tertinegg, Andreas Thaller as COO and Thomas Burgstaller as CGO lead the company.

Private clients with volumes from 100,000 euros get personal service, and Coinfinity helps companies set up their own bitcoin strategy.

Authorization under MiCA

The FMA granted Coinfinity GmbH, register number FN 415803a, its authorization on 19 December 2025, according to the notice of the FMA. The license covers five MiCA services, among them custody, the exchange of bitcoin against euros, advice and transfers for clients.

The registration as a virtual asset service provider from 19 December 2019 lapsed with the new license. The European register lists Germany, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg as host countries so far.

The Card Wallet

The Card Wallet is a printed card for storing bitcoin offline, which Coinfinity produces with the Austrian State Printing House. The private key is created in a high-security room and sealed on the card before it leaves the machine, as Trending Topics described at the launch.

A card wallet differs from a hardware wallet because the card cannot sign transactions, so the owner moves the bitcoin to another wallet to spend it.

The Coinfinity app

The Coinfinity app and the web portal both handle purchases, sales, savings plans and the wallet, so customers can switch between phone and computer. Support answers by phone, email and live chat, according to the website of the company.

Fees and the spread

Coinfinity advertises a spread of 0 percent and charges a service fee, which it describes as fair and without hidden costs. The referral program of the company gives a discount of 21 percent on that service fee.

Buying and selling bitcoin

Customers buy and sell bitcoin with euros by SEPA transfer, as single orders or through an automatic savings plan. Over the Lightning Network, the app also buys small amounts in satoshis, the smallest unit of bitcoin.

Bitcoin Blinks and research papers

Coinfinity publishes Bitcoin Blinks as short introductions for beginners and Bitcoin Research Papers as longer texts for readers who want to go deeper into bitcoin.
