justTRADE

justTRADE is the online broker of JT Technologies GmbH in Frankfurt am Main, which in 2019 became the first German broker with fully commission-free securities trading. One account covers equities, ETFs, derivatives and directly held crypto assets, while the securities account itself sits at Sutor Bank in Hamburg. Clients trade 73 crypto assets around the clock in the app and on the web, and 94 crypto ETPs on German exchanges.

On 14 July 2026 the German financial supervisor recorded a notification of JT Technologies under Article 60 of the EU crypto regulation for executing crypto orders and for receiving and transmitting them. The entry covers Germany, where the broker serves its clients. Coins bought through the broker sit in a collective wallet with a regulated custodian in Munich, free of custody fees.

Notification to BaFin

The interim MiCA register of ESMA lists JT Technologies GmbH, Hamburger Allee 14 in Frankfurt am Main, under the commercial name justTRADE with a notification of 14 July 2026 to BaFin under Article 60. It covers two services, execution of orders for crypto assets on behalf of clients and reception and transmission of such orders, in Germany only.

The law firm Ashurst Perkins Coie advised JT Technologies on obtaining the license under MiCA, with partner Detmar Loff leading the mandate in Frankfurt. MiCA Article 60 lets an investment firm with a license under German law add crypto services after notifying BaFin, without a separate authorization.

73 crypto assets in custody at Tangany

In the justTRADE app and in web trading, clients can buy 73 crypto assets, bitcoin among them, also in fractions, from a minimum order of €25 up to €100,000 per buy order. The coins are held free of charge in a collective wallet at Tangany in Munich, a crypto custodian supervised by BaFin.

The FAQ of justTRADE describes crypto trading as commission business through Sutor Bank in Hamburg, so justTRADE itself is no crypto exchange. Clients can neither send coins to justTRADE nor withdraw them to a wallet of their own.

Fees, staking and crypto ETPs

A crypto order costs 0.125 percent of the order volume plus a spread of at least 0.175 percent, depending on the market and the order size, and justTRADE charges no network fees. Clients can switch on flexible staking for three coins, ether among them, in the settings, and take the coins out of staking at any time.

Next to the coins, justTRADE lists 94 crypto ETPs, 43 of them for savings plans, which trade on regulated German exchanges without order commission, plus the spread and at most €1 in third-party costs. An ETP is a bond of its issuer, while the 73 coins are crypto assets held directly for the client.

Crypto tax at justTRADE

Gains on coins bought at justTRADE are not subject to the German flat withholding tax, unlike gains on securities. A sale counts as a private sale under section 23 of the German Income Tax Act, so gains are tax-free after a holding period of one year, the rule that crypto tax in Germany explains. Clients declare gains from shorter holdings in their own tax return, and justTRADE lets them export crypto transactions from web trading for the tax software Blockpit.

Crypto wallet and transfers

justTRADE needs no extra wallet, because Tangany holds the coins for the client once crypto trading is activated. Transfers of coins into justTRADE and withdrawals to an external wallet are not possible, so a client can only close a position by selling it. Coins created by a fork of a blockchain are not credited, because justTRADE trades and holds only the coins on its list.

Activating crypto trading

After opening a securities account, clients activate crypto trading in web trading or in the app through the menu item for crypto activation. justTRADE says the activation takes a few minutes and confirms it by email. Clients then search for a coin by name in the order form, for example bitcoin, and trade it from the usual trading screen.

Bitcoin at justTRADE

Bitcoin is one of the 73 coins at justTRADE and can be bought in fractions from €25, held at Tangany without custody fees. For regular purchases, justTRADE offers savings plans on crypto ETPs, and 43 of its 94 crypto ETPs can be used for a savings plan. A bitcoin ETP is a security in the account at Sutor Bank, while the coin itself is a crypto asset in custody at Tangany.

justTRADE and MiCA

JT Technologies GmbH notified BaFin under Article 60 and has appeared in the ESMA register since 14 July 2026 for execution and order transmission. Custody of the coins is not part of the entry, because Tangany holds them as a separate provider. The MiCA transitional period for providers without a license ended on 1 July 2026 at the latest.
