Newrails

Newrails is a Lithuanian electronic money institution that offers business accounts, euro payments and its own euro stablecoin, EURW. Companies open accounts with a European IBAN, send SEPA and SEPA Instant transfers and create virtual IBANs through an API. EURW links these accounts to a blockchain.

EURW is a token worth one euro that customers mint from the euro balance of their account and redeem back to it without fees. Redeemed tokens become euros again, which customers can send on by SEPA transfer. Newrails issues EURW on the Monad blockchain.

License from the Bank of Lithuania

Newrails UAB in Vilnius holds electronic money institution license number 69 from the Bank of Lithuania and uses it in other EEA countries through passporting. It also holds a license as a virtual asset service provider in Czechia, Newrails states. As an e-money institution, Newrails may issue euro e-money tokens under MiCA, which requires redemption at par at any time.

EURW on Monad

EURW went live on the Monad blockchain on 25 March 2026. Newrails backs each token one to one with euro reserves, publishes a white paper for it and states that holders can redeem EURW at any time at par value. Minting and redemption run against the IBAN balance of the customer, so euros arriving by SEPA can become EURW in one step.

Accounts and API

Next to EURW, Newrails runs multi-currency accounts in euros, US dollars and pounds sterling, with SWIFT access and participation in SEPA and SEPA Instant. Developers connect through a REST API with SDKs for JavaScript and Python and with webhooks. Newrails also offers x402 middleware, which bills software agents and applications per API call.
