Crossmint
Crossmint is a technology company that gives businesses and AI agents access to stablecoin payments through one integration. Its products cover embedded and treasury wallets, on- and off-ramps between money and stablecoins, cross-border stablecoin transfers, card payments for AI agents and tools that create and distribute tokens.
Crossmint Europe S.L. in Madrid holds the European licenses of the group. The Spanish securities regulator CNMV authorized it as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA, and the Bank of Spain licensed it as a payment institution, so remittance firms, payroll providers and neobanks in the EU can use its services.
Stablecoin infrastructure for companies and agents
Crossmint first became known for APIs that let companies mint tokens and sell them to buyers who pay by card, and it now calls itself stablecoin infrastructure for the new economy. The company says that more than 40,000 enterprises and developers use its platform, and its investors include Ribbit Capital, Franklin Templeton, Lightspeed and First Round.
The platform covers the gas fees on the blockchains it supports and bills customers in regular currency, so a company does not need to hold tokens to pay network fees. Crossmint names onboarding and payouts in more than 160 countries and all 27 EU member states through its MiCA authorization.
Authorization under MiCA
The Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores authorized Crossmint Europe S.L. under MiCA, and Crossmint announced the decision on 14 January 2026. The interim register of ESMA lists the entry under Article 63 of MiCA with the date 26 June 2026 and names custody and administration of crypto assets for clients, exchange of crypto assets for money and transfers of crypto assets on behalf of clients.
The entry names 27 states, Spain included, in which Crossmint offers these services through the passport of its CASP license. Rodrigo Fernández Touza, a co-founder of Crossmint, said when the authorization was announced that the company was built to be a global digital asset platform from day one.
Licenses outside Europe
Outside the EU, Crossmint Financial Services US is registered with FinCEN as a money services business, and Crossmint Canada Ltd. is registered with FINTRAC and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider. Crossmint Inc. provides the non-custodial wallets, which according to the company need no separate regulatory authorization because users keep control of the keys.
For a European customer the payment institution license of the Bank of Spain matters as much as the CASP authorization, because a transfer of e-money tokens also counts as a payment service. Crossmint Europe therefore holds both licenses for its ramps and its stablecoin transfers in the EU.

What is Crossmint?
Crossmint is a stablecoin infrastructure provider whose API lets a company add wallets, stablecoin payments and token sales to its own app without building blockchain systems itself. Developers start with a software development kit, and enterprise customers get service levels with an uptime target of 99.99 percent.
Embedded and smart wallets
Embedded wallets from Crossmint sit inside an app and are created for each user at sign-up, so the user does not handle seed phrases or install a separate wallet app. Treasury wallets hold the crypto assets of a company itself, and the smart wallets use smart contracts to define who may sign a transaction and how access is recovered.
Wallets for AI agents
Crossmint sells agent wallets and Agentic Cards, with which an AI agent can hold stablecoins and pay for goods or services on behalf of a user or a company. Such agentic payments raise the question of which spending limits and approvals the human owner sets before an agent moves money.
Stablecoin remittances with MoneyGram
MoneyGram works with Crossmint on stablecoin remittances to Colombia, a project that Crossmint presents among its case studies. The list of case studies also names the card company Wirex and a universal basic income program of the Marshall Islands that pays out over a blockchain.
Crossmint Europe in Madrid
Crossmint Europe S.L. is registered at Calle Villalar 7 in Madrid and holds the MiCA authorization of the CNMV and the payment institution license of the Bank of Spain. Miguel Angel Zapatero, general counsel of Crossmint, said that the authorization confirms standards in governance, risk management, consumer protection and operational resilience.
