Dynex
Dynex is a Swiss technology company that builds quantum and quantum-driven computers and sells their computing power as a cloud service. Companies send hard optimization and simulation problems to the Dynex platform, which runs them on its own chips, on emulated qubits or on quantum processors of other providers. Dynex calls this business model Quantum-as-a-Service, or QaaS for short.
Dynex also works directly with companies on single business problems: a workshop defines the question, then Dynex builds and tests a prototype and moves it into production. Its hardware includes Apollo, an analog chip with 10,000 probabilistic qubits that runs at room temperature, and Zeus, a diamond-based quantum processor that Dynex is still developing.
Quantum-driven computing as a cloud service
The Dynex platform is qubit-agnostic: a developer describes a problem once, for example as a QUBO or Ising model, and an orchestration layer picks the hardware that runs it. The backends are the Apollo chips of Dynex, CPU and GPU nodes that emulate quantum circuits, and quantum processors that other providers operate. Dynex states that its emulation handles up to one million algorithmic qubits for gate circuits and for quantum annealing.
Apollo is a mixed-signal analog CMOS chip whose 10,000 p-qubits switch between 0 and 1 under controlled randomness. The chip needs no cryogenic cooling, and its analog core draws about half a watt, according to the Apollo paper that Dynex researchers published on arXiv in June 2026. On a three-dimensional spin-glass benchmark with 2,687 spins, the paper reports lower ground-state energies than published reference data from superconducting quantum annealers.
Portfolio optimization, reinsurance and commodity trading
Portfolio optimization is a classic finance problem, because the number of possible asset combinations grows exponentially with the number of assets. Dynex has published a worked example of stock portfolio optimization that runs as a quantum algorithm on its QaaS platform. For an investment fund advisor, Dynex reports a gain of 16 percent from January to 19 March 2026, while the Nasdaq lost 4 percent over the same period.
In a reinsurance case study, Apollo assembled treaty portfolios and weighed return on capital, tail value at risk, required capital and net written premium against each other. Dynex states that this search reached up to 500 percent higher capital deployment coverage in the target range of 30 to 50 million than spreadsheet methods. For an energy trader, Dynex combined a 14-day quantum weather forecast with a machine learning bot that trades WTI crude oil.
Quantum Keys and quantum sensors
On 3 September 2026, Dynex announced the commercial launch of its Quantum Keys, hardware that generates random data for encryption keys from physical quantum processes. The USB Quantum Key Generator delivers 136 kilobits per second from avalanche noise in two Zener diode channels. The PCI Quantum Key Appliance delivers up to 250 megabits per second from light that a beam splitter divides between two photodiodes.
Quantum Keys supply the random input for key generation, while post-quantum cryptography replaces the algorithms that use those keys. The same announcement brought two NV-diamond quantum sensors that measure small changes in magnetic fields and temperature at room temperature. Dynex sells both product lines through its webshop, with international shipping and payment by invoice.
Company in Baar and its leadership
The legal entity behind Dynex is Dynex Quantum Technologies AG, a Swiss stock corporation registered in Baar in the canton of Zug. The company took this name in April 2026 and was entered in the commercial register before that as Topan MapuFin AG. The canton of Zug is the center of the Crypto Valley ecosystem, which reaches from Zug to Zurich and other cantons.
Daniela Herrmann founded Dynex, leads it as chief executive officer and chairs the board of directors of the Swiss company. She studied economics at the University of St. Gallen and holds an MBA from the University of Zurich. Dynex has a team of more than 60 people and works with Graz University of Technology on the materials for its Zeus processor.

What is Dynex quantum computing?
Dynex quantum computing is the computing service of Dynex, which runs customer problems on the Apollo chip, on quantum emulation and on external quantum processors. Developers reach it through the Dynex SDK, a set of open-source Python tools that supports both quantum gate circuits and quantum annealing.
How the Apollo chip works
The Apollo chip computes with p-qubits, which are stochastic binary units whose state flips between 0 and 1 under fixed inputs and controlled randomness. Dynex calls the approach quantum-driven neuromorphic computing, because the chip settles into a solution through the continuous physical dynamics of coupled elements.
What is quantum as a service?
Quantum as a service means that a company rents quantum or quantum-driven computing power over the cloud and pays for its use, so it never buys or runs the hardware. Dynex sells access through a subscription model and adds project work in which its developers build the complete solution around one business problem.
Dynex coin: what happened to DNX?
DNX is the utility coin of the Dynex blockchain, which launched in September 2022 without an ICO or premine and has a maximum supply of 110 million coins. Miners contribute GPU power under a proof-of-useful-work algorithm, so the mining itself runs computing tasks. In February 2026, Dynex opened applications for Paragon, a private program that accompanies the planned phase-out of the utility token as the company moves toward an institutional and corporate structure.
