Paybis

Paybis is a crypto service where private customers buy, sell and swap crypto assets with a credit or debit card, a bank transfer or a mobile payment, in 180 countries according to the company. In the European Union SIA Paybis Europe from Riga runs the service, and the free Paybis Wallet holds hundreds of crypto assets in an app for iOS and Android.

Paybis has operated since 2014, and Innokenty Isers leads the company as chief executive. On 12 May 2026 Latvijas Banka granted SIA Paybis Europe a MiCA license for crypto-asset services and a license as a payment institution, which made it the first crypto-asset service provider in Latvia with both authorizations at once.

Group companies in Riga, Glasgow and Tulsa

SIA Paybis Europe, registration number 40203730951, has the head office of the group at Brīvības iela 171 in Riga. The group also includes Paybis LTD in Glasgow, registered in Scotland under SC533961, and PAYBIS USA LTD at 321 South Boston Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Paybis counts more than seven million users, and in the company announcement on the decision of Latvijas Banka, Innokenty Isers said that few companies hold both licenses. The website of Paybis is available in nine languages, German, Spanish, French, Korean and Arabic among them, and support answers through live chat around the clock.

MiCA license from Latvijas Banka

On 12 May 2026 the Supervision Committee of Latvijas Banka decided to issue SIA Paybis Europe a license for crypto-asset services and a license to operate a payment institution. SIA Paybis Europe is the third company in Latvia with a MiCA license, and the payment license lets it execute payments, including transfers to payment accounts.

The crypto license covers custody and administration, exchange of crypto assets for money and for other crypto assets, execution of orders, advice on crypto assets and transfer services for clients. The interim MiCA register of ESMA lists the authorization under Article 63 with all 29 other EEA states as passport countries, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein included. Under the notification procedure of a CASP license, Latvijas Banka passes such cross-border plans on to the host countries.

On-ramp and off-ramp for businesses

For companies Paybis sells a white-label on-ramp and off-ramp, with which wallets and apps let their own users buy crypto assets with money or cash out crypto assets into money. The company names more than 180 countries, more than 70 local payment methods and 80 fiat currencies, and payouts reach cards, bank accounts and e-wallets.

Integration works in three ways: a direct link to the Paybis checkout with preset amount, crypto asset and wallet, a checkout over the API, or a full-screen overlay through SDKs for the web, iOS and Android. The business range also includes crypto payouts, corporate ramp and swaps, an exchange and OTC desk and a corporate wallet.

What is Paybis?

Paybis is a crypto broker that buys and sells crypto assets for money and swaps one crypto asset for another, with payment by card, bank transfer or mobile payment. In the EU the service runs through SIA Paybis Europe in Riga, which Latvijas Banka supervises under MiCA and as a payment institution.

Paybis Wallet for iOS and Android

The free Paybis Wallet keeps hundreds of crypto assets in the app, and customers download it for iOS from the App Store or for Android from Google Play. Customers who prefer a wallet of their own can also have every purchase delivered to an external wallet address.

Buying crypto with a card

A purchase starts with the amount in euros or another currency, the crypto asset and the payment method, and Paybis then shows the exchange rate with all fees included. Verification takes under two minutes according to the company, and the crypto assets go to the Paybis Wallet or to an external wallet.

Fees and exchange rate

The price that Paybis quotes before confirmation already contains the fees, so the customer sees the final amount of crypto before paying. The first purchase carries no Paybis fee, and the fee overview on paybis.com lists the rates for each payment method.

Selling crypto and payouts

Customers sell crypto assets on Paybis and receive the money on a payment card or in a bank account, and a swap exchanges one crypto asset for another in a single step. The payment institution license from May 2026 allows SIA Paybis Europe to execute these payments itself, transfers to payment accounts included.
