Valiant Bank
Valiant Bank AG is a Swiss bank for private clients and small and medium-sized businesses, founded in 1997, with its registered office at Bundesplatz 4 in Bern. Since July 2023 its private clients can buy and sell bitcoin and ether against Swiss francs, US dollars and euros, without a minimum amount, in e-banking, in the mobile banking app or by phone.
Valiant holds the coins for its clients, so they need no wallet and no private key of their own, and the positions appear in the existing securities custody account. The bank launched the offer with Incore Bank, a bank in Schlieren near Zurich that serves other banks, and Entris Banking, a service company for small and medium-sized Swiss banks.
Valiant Bank crypto: bitcoin and ether
Valiant has two cryptocurrencies in its range, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH), and clients trade them against CHF, USD or EUR. The bank sets no minimum amount for an order, so a small first purchase is possible. Trading runs from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 17:30, except on public holidays, so clients cannot place crypto trades at weekends.
The coins appear in the securities custody account next to shares, bonds and funds. On its crypto page the bank links to the opening of an execution-only account, the Valiant offer for clients who invest without advice.
Buying bitcoin through e-banking and the app
Clients place a crypto order in Valiant e-banking, in the mobile banking app or by calling their bank. After the bank has confirmed an order, the client can no longer withdraw it, according to the special conditions for digital assets. Valiant blocks or debits the trade amount including fees on the client account until the trade is settled.
The price shown before the order can differ from the amount the bank charges after execution, and the terms state this risk openly. The bank may execute an order outside the trading hours, but it gives no guarantee for such an execution.
Fees for crypto trading
An online trade up to CHF 25,000 costs 1.00 percent of the amount, and a trade up to CHF 100,000 costs 0.90 percent. The annual custody fee is 0.25 percent of the custody value with a minimum of CHF 50, excluding VAT, and the bank charges it every quarter. Clients up to the age of 28 pay no custody fee, according to the product sheet dated 1 May 2026.

Custody and what the terms exclude
Valiant keeps the coins in its own name but for the account and at the risk of the client, either directly or through a third-party provider. In crypto custody with a provider, the coins can sit in a collective wallet in the name of the bank, and the provider can keep control of the private keys. A client can claim the private keys only if the bank goes bankrupt.
Staking, lending and transfers of coins into or out of the custody account are not part of the offer. A client who wants the coins in a personal wallet therefore has to sell them at Valiant and buy them again elsewhere.
Platform partner Incore Bank
Incore Bank, a transaction bank in Schlieren near Zurich that sells its services only to other banks and financial firms, connected Valiant to its platform for digital assets. Entris Banking, which provides services to small and medium-sized Swiss banks, brought the two together. The partners announced their cooperation in December 2022, and according to CVJ.CH Valiant went live in July 2023 as the first bank in the Entris Banking group with crypto trading and custody.
