weXelerate

weXelerate is an innovation hub in Vienna where established companies, startups, investors and universities work together on new technology. The company was founded in 2017 and runs a building of 9,000 m² with offices, coworking desks and event spaces, where more than 40 companies have their teams. Its programs help large companies test artificial intelligence and quantum computing on their own business problems.

Banks, insurers and industrial groups join weXelerate as members and send their innovation teams to workshops, peer circles and solution days with startups. Founders from Austria and Central and Eastern Europe use the hub to meet their first corporate customers and their investors. weXelerate also organizes Future Forward, a one-day innovation conference that takes place in English inside the hub.

Corporate programs on AI and quantum computing

weXelerate works with more than 45 corporate partners and runs more than ten program formats a year for them on AI, quantum computing and innovation. Four times a year, an AI Solution Day brings a real challenge from a company together with startups that build working AI solutions for it on the same day. Twice a year, the Fellows Club invites the top executives of member companies to a closed dinner without a stage or pitches.

For quantum technology, weXelerate runs the Quantum Reality Check in cooperation with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG, and more than 40 Austrian corporates take part in it. The program marks quantum cryptography as the field to act on now, because attackers already collect encrypted data to decrypt it once quantum computers can, and it names finance among the industries with first quantum computing projects. In September 2026, weXelerate announced Qubit Founders, a group for researchers in Vienna and Innsbruck who weigh founding a quantum company.

Banks and insurers in the network

weXelerate counts ING, Santander, UNIQA, Erste Digital and the Oesterreichische Nationalbank among the financial services companies in its network, along with Payment Services Austria and several Austrian regional banks. For investors who visit the pitch nights, weXelerate names fintech first among the fields that its corporate partners scout for B2B startups.

N26 is one of the success stories that weXelerate names from its programs since 2017, and the Vienna investment platform Bitpanda is another. From the fourth accelerator batch, fiskaly has raised €125 million, and the Austrian company sells fiscalization and e-invoicing APIs to makers of point-of-sale software across Europe.

From accelerator to corporate innovation

weXelerate opened its hub in 2017 and ran seven accelerator batches until 2020, in which it matched hundreds of startups with Austrian corporates without fees and without taking equity. After the seventh batch, the company rebuilt its model around corporate innovation and a membership that companies keep for several years. The startups from these batches have raised more than €650 million since then, with refurbed from the first batch at €131 million.

Founders now come in through the 10X Startup Club, which weXelerate built for B2B startups from Austria and Central and Eastern Europe. Members pitch to the innovation units of corporates at AI Solution Days and meet investors at pitch nights in the hub. weXelerate presents Vienna as the entry point for founders from Central and Eastern Europe who want to sell into Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Offices and event spaces in a Jean Nouvel tower

The weXelerate Hub covers 9,000 m² on four floors of the tower that the French architect Jean Nouvel designed. More than 40 resident companies work there, from startups to corporate innovation units and investment firms, in furnished private offices with 24/7 access and no agency fee. The SO/ Vienna hotel is the partner hotel of the hub, and its spa sits two floors above the weXelerate floors.

Four rooms can be booked for events, from the 100 m² Breakout Lab to Twenty Eight, a hall of 370 m² for up to 130 guests. Prices start at €610 net for half a day, and the whole hub with its plaza holds more than 700 guests for conferences, trade fairs and galas.

Future Forward conference in Vienna

weXelerate has organized Future Forward since 2023, a one-day conference at the hub for CEOs, founders, investors and corporate innovation teams. The program has keynotes on the main stage, deep-dive tracks on AI, quantum, energy and finance, live startup pitches, an innovation expo and matchmaking between investors and founders. The 2025 edition counted 899 attendees from 42 nations and 215 one-to-one matchmaking sessions, and every talk and pitch is held in English.
