AMINA Bank
AMINA Bank is a Swiss bank that combines conventional banking with services for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. AMINA products include cash accounts, payments, crypto custody and trading, with offerings for individuals and businesses. Custody involves managing the digital keys used to authorize transfers of the assets held for customers.
Customers who hold both cash and digital assets need arrangements for moving money, safeguarding assets and executing transactions. AMINA brings these functions together within its banking and digital asset services. The available products and legal protections depend on the serving entity, the customer and the jurisdiction.
Bank accounts, payments and investments
AMINA combines cash banking with services for customers who also hold digital assets. The product range includes current accounts, payments, deposits and trading across cryptocurrencies and traditional investment categories. Customers can use these services to organize both money balances and investment holdings within the bank's available offering.
Individuals and businesses have different account and transaction needs, and AMINA provides separate product ranges for these groups. Corporate services include online banking, payment interfaces and access to custody and trading. Available services and the applicable legal framework depend on the entity serving the customer and the jurisdiction.
Licenses in Switzerland, the EU and Asia
AMINA Bank received a Swiss banking and securities dealer license in 2019 and is supervised by FINMA. AMINA (Austria) AG is a MiCAR-regulated provider of crypto asset services for EU clients. AMINA also runs an FSRA-regulated branch in the Abu Dhabi Global Market and has a local entity in Hong Kong. Through the Austrian unit AMINA became the first crypto banking group with a MiCA license, as crypto in Switzerland explains. CASP license covers the authorization a Swiss firm needs to serve EU clients.
Custody, staking and tokenization
AMINA lists custody, trading, staking, tokenization and stablecoin rewards among its services; its enterprise line AMINA Edge serves institutions. The bank spoke with 21X, Franklin Templeton, DFNS and Chainlink at Tokenization & On-Chain Capital Markets in Zurich, described on crypto custody.
AMINA in Project Agorá
AMINA Bank is one of the private financial firms convened by the Institute of International Finance that proceed to the next phase of Project Agorá. The project brings together seven central banks, the Bank of France, Bank of Japan, Bank of Korea, Bank of Mexico, Swiss National Bank, Bank of England and Federal Reserve Bank of New York, convened by the BIS, to explore how tokenization can improve wholesale cross-border payments. The BIS describes the approach as recording central bank reserves and commercial bank deposits on a shared platform for atomic settlement. Tokenized deposits explains this form of bank money, and B2B cross-border payments shows where companies pay today.
