Dutch Blockchain Week

Dutch Blockchain Week is a business week for digital assets, blockchain and Web3 in Amsterdam, and its ninth edition runs from 17 to 23 May 2027. At its center is the DBW Main Summit on 19 and 20 May 2027 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the stadium of AFC Ajax, with side events across the city on the other days.

The BCNL Foundation, a Dutch industry network for blockchain and digital assets, organizes the week. Exchanges, banks, payment providers, funds, market makers and regulators meet there, and in 2026 the speakers came from the Dutch financial regulator AFM, Rabobank, ABN AMRO and Visa, among others.

Dutch Blockchain Week 2027: dates, summit and venue

The 2027 week runs from Monday 17 May to Sunday 23 May in Amsterdam. The Main Summit takes place on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 May at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, Johan Cruijff Boulevard 1, a five-minute walk from the station Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA, where metro lines 50 and 54 stop.

Visitors who arrive by car leave the A10 or the A2 at exit 1 toward Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and Duivendrecht and park in the P1 garage underneath the stadium. The main entrance E has red revolving doors, and visitors register at the reception behind them. The organizers plan to publish the 2027 program in January 2027.

Two stages for stablecoins, tokenization and regulation

The summit at the Johan Cruijff ArenA has two stages with separate programs. The Main Stage holds keynotes, panels and interviews with industry leaders, and the Amsterdam Stage holds deep dives, expert sessions, company presentations and pitches. The organizers name stablecoins, payments, tokenization, regulation, institutional adoption and market infrastructure as the subjects of the two days.

In 2026 the speakers included Lieke Helleman, who manages MiCAR supervision at the AFM, and Rosalie Majoor, senior policy advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Finance. The AFM is the authority that licenses crypto-asset service providers under MiCA in the Netherlands. Jessica Rog of Rabobank and Anaelle Ubaldino of ABN AMRO spoke for the banks, and Maike Hornung, head of crypto Europe at Visa, spoke for the card networks.

Crypto events in Amsterdam during the week

Around the summit, companies, partners and communities host their own side events across Amsterdam from 17 to 23 May 2027, among them dinners, meetups, networking drinks and workshops. The calendar of these events opens two weeks before the week starts, and companies that want to host an event of their own contact the organizers.

Amsterdam also hosts Money20/20 Europe, a payments and fintech conference that takes place at the RAI each June. The payment companies Adyen and Mollie have their head offices in the city and belong to the fintech scene of Amsterdam.

Upcoming events on crypto and digital assets

Crypto conference in Amsterdam since 2019

The first Dutch Blockchain Week took place in 2019 at the Venturerock office in Amsterdam. In 2020 the week moved to the head office of ABN AMRO because of COVID, in 2021 it ran from three studios, and in 2022 EY hosted it in Amsterdam. In 2023 the week went to ASML in Eindhoven, in 2024 and 2025 to the Meervaart theater in Amsterdam, and since 2026 the summit has used the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

The BCNL Foundation runs the week with a team led by three co-organizers: Christiaan Jimmink heads marketing, Rudolf van Ee heads partnerships, and Jan Scheele curates the program and runs finance. During the rest of the year BCNL connects companies, institutions and professionals in blockchain and digital assets through its own events.

Tickets, Dutch Blockchain Awards and partners

A Pro ticket for the 2027 summit costs €99 as a super early bird price until 30 November 2026 and gives access to both stages, the breakouts and the exhibition area. The VIP ticket costs €549 in the same period and adds food and drinks, a lounge with speakers and sponsors and entry to the VIP Night on the evening before the summit. Students pay €25 for the same access as the Pro ticket after they send a valid student ID by email.

The organizers also present the Dutch Blockchain Awards 2027 during the week in Amsterdam. In 2026 the crypto exchange Bitvavo was the main partner of the week and the bank bunq its diamond partner, according to Banken.nl. The card networks Visa and Mastercard and the exchange Kraken took part as partners at other levels.
