Fintech Lead Generation
Fintech lead generation identifies potential buyers of financial technology and creates opportunities for a first business conversation. Providers look for banks, asset managers or companies whose processes their product can improve. A useful lead combines a relevant need with a contact who can discuss the potential purchase.
A webinar on stablecoins can introduce payment or treasury teams to a provider's expertise. An open banking discussion can help identify buyers interested in account access and financial data. Outreach must respect applicable contact and consent rules, while technical evidence helps buyers assess security, regulation and the provider's experience.
What German law allows
Section 7 of the German Act against Unfair Competition (UWG) treats advertising by email without the recipient's prior express consent as an unreasonable nuisance, and this applies to business addresses as well. Section 7(3) has one exception: a company may email its own customers about similar products of its own if it got the address in a sale, the customer has not objected, and it explains the right to object both when collecting the address and in every message. A sales call to a business needs at least the presumed consent of the person called, and to a consumer prior express consent.
A purchased contact list does not establish consent to receive advertising. Campaign data also falls under the GDPR. Record which company may contact a person, for what purpose and through which channel.
Who the leads are
A bank buys through a group: the business unit that has the problem, IT, information security, compliance, purchasing and, for an outsourcing, the outsourcing officer that MaRisk requires. A lead list with one name per bank misses most of them. Savings banks and cooperative banks add a group level, because their core IT comes from Finanz Informatik and Atruvia, two providers of core banking in Germany. Bank marketing needs to address each of these three banking groups.
Events and webinars as the first contact
A webinar on DORA, the EU AI Act or MiCA can bring together people working on the same regulatory question. A meetup or roundtable provides time for a direct conversation. Finance Loop offers these formats through webinar partnerships.
Event registration alone does not authorize a sponsor to send advertising emails. Check the recipient's consent and the intended use of participant data before following up. Agree during the conversation whether a person wants a recording, further information or a meeting, and use B2B event marketing measures to evaluate the response.

Fintech lead generation services
A prospective customer, a potential distribution partner and a finance creator play different roles in a market-entry program. Finance Loop starts by agreeing which relationship the company wants to develop and which business question an introduction should address. Business Development Managers receive a researched shortlist and can approve the people Finance Loop should approach.
Finance Loop then coordinates personal contact, relevant follow-up and shared first calls where the recipient agrees. The handover records the interest expressed and the next action for the company to take. A response, an introduction and a signed agreement remain separate outcomes in reporting.
Companies can discuss a contact-research and introduction brief through Finance Loop services. Longer-term network access is available through the documented partner programs, with the appropriate scope agreed for the company.
What is lead generation in banking?
Lead generation in banking is the search for people or companies who may become clients of a bank or buyers of a product for banks. When a fintech sells to banks, a lead is a contact at a bank who has a matching problem and the role to act on it.
May a fintech send cold emails to banks in Germany?
Advertising emails generally require prior express consent under section 7 UWG, including when sent to business recipients. The existing-customer exception in section 7(3) applies only if all its conditions are met. An event registration or professional-network connection is not, by itself, consent to receive a sponsor's advertising.
Why does a bank deal take so long?
The vendor has to pass the bank's outsourcing and ICT risk checks under MaRisk and DORA, agree the contract clauses these rules require and go through purchasing before anything is signed. Lead generation for banks is therefore planned over quarters, with several contacts per institution.
Contact qualification for trading providers
For a trading provider, the first contact may be a finance educator or creator whose audience matches the product. Finance Loop checks subject coverage and available audience information before preparing potential contacts for approval. The company decides whether the relationship should concern an educational contribution, a distribution discussion or another permitted cooperation.
Contact reports show which approved people were approached, when follow-up happened and whether a first call was agreed. The company can use that record to continue the conversation with its own commercial team. Paid placements, commercial terms and content approval remain matters for the company and the contributor.
Companies planning finance-creator introductions can discuss a focused finance-creator outreach brief with Finance Loop before approving the first contacts.
