Sopra Steria is a European consulting, digital services and software group that serves large companies and public organizations. It provides technology consulting, systems integration and infrastructure management across several industries. Organizations use this work to connect new digital services with the applications and operating processes they already rely on.
Sopra Steria supports technical planning and migration through application development and ongoing operations. Its work includes modernization of applications and the integration of separate systems. In banking, cloud outsourcing must also address the security, oversight and operational requirements of a regulated institution.
Sopra Steria Banking
Sopra Steria provides banking consulting, systems integration and application management (in German) to universal banks, development banks, automotive banks, savings banks and cooperative banks. The work covers DORA, PSD3, the Payment Services Regulation and FiDA, financial crime prevention, the digital euro, ESG solutions and generative AI with hyperautomation.
Sopra Steria AI
Sopra Steria and Gwenlake developed Mon Coach IA for ESBanque, the French banking school. The AI coach simulates wealth-management client meetings and gives advisers feedback. Two pilot groups of 45 learners tested the coach, with a rollout planned for more than 1,000 learners.
Sopra Steria and Computacenter won a framework agreement to deploy generative and agentic AI for the Caisse des Dépôts Group, the French public financial group. The agreement covers AI services and sovereign computing infrastructure. The EU AI Act in finance sets requirements for regulated AI systems.
Cloud services for banks
Sopra Steria helps banks and insurers migrate and modernize applications in the cloud. For ESBanque's AI coach, Sopra Steria designed the secure cloud architecture, integrated third-party components and standardized development for the banking sector.
Payments through Galitt
Sopra Steria works through Galitt on payment technology, including instant payments, digital wallets and open finance. Galitt helps financial institutions integrate payment systems and meet transaction-security requirements. Sopra Steria estimates that AI agents could assist 310 billion euros of European e-commerce transactions within ten years.
Blockchain and crypto assets
Sopra Steria helps banks integrate crypto assets and blockchain technology. The services include crypto solutions, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies, alongside regulatory compliance and risk management. Sopra Steria also works on post-quantum cryptography and on fraud and anti-money-laundering controls for the digital euro. Related requirements include MiCA in Germany; the digital euro is a separate form of central bank money.
fAInance in Frankfurt
Sopra Steria and Fraunhofer IAIS held fAInance 2026 on 11 June 2026, at Sopra Steria's offices next to Frankfurt Airport. The conference covered trusted AI platforms for banks, testing, governance, risk and compliance, financial crime prevention and AI-driven software development.
A Sopra Steria speaker also took part in the Digital Finance Night Frankfurt, which Finance Loop hosted.
