Twinstake
Twinstake is a staking provider for institutional investors such as custodians, issuers of exchange-traded products, asset managers, hedge funds and venture capital firms. Twinstake runs validators on more than 20 proof-of-stake blockchains, among them Ethereum, Solana, Polygon and TON. The staking is non-custodial, so the tokens stay with the custodian or wallet provider that the client already uses.
In a proof-of-stake network, token holders lock tokens with a validator that confirms new blocks, and the network pays rewards for this work. Twinstake operates these validators for its clients, reports the rewards daily and does not offer staking to retail customers. The Ethereum software company Nethermind and the fintech incubator Webn Group set up Twinstake as a joint venture in 2022.
Staking for institutions without handing over keys
Twinstake sells staking through an API for custodians, exchanges and wallets and through a concierge service, where clients start staking by Slack, email or Telegram. In both cases the client signs the staking transaction from its own custodian or wallet, and Twinstake never holds the private keys of the staked tokens. The Twinstake Portal shows each staked position with a breakdown of rewards by entity, validator and delegator, and the same data arrives in daily reports by email.
Restaking and liquid staking are the third and fourth product lines of Twinstake. Brevan Howard Digital, GSR, Coinbase, CoinShares, TruFin and the Polygon network are among the clients of Twinstake. The Ethereum client developer Nethermind still backs Twinstake together with Webn Group, the incubator for fintech and Web3 companies.
Validator infrastructure for staking ETPs and ETFs
An exchange-traded product that holds proof-of-stake tokens can pass staking rewards to its investors, and the issuer then needs a validator operator next to its custodian. In April 2025 Twinstake became a core staking infrastructure provider for the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF (SOLQ). In July 2025 Twinstake took the same role for the REX-Osprey SOL + Staking ETF (SSK), which trades on Cboe as the first US fund with native staking of Solana.
In Europe, the Swedish ETP issuer Virtune added Twinstake to its staking providers in July 2026. Twinstake reports that it supports about 40 percent of the staking products among the European crypto ETPs, and issuers often run more than one staking provider for each product.
Networks, restaking and the Lido validators
Twinstake runs validators on Ethereum and Solana as well as on Polygon, Avalanche, NEAR, Aptos, Celestia, Injective, Cosmos, Osmosis, TON, Radix, MANTRA, peaq, Starknet, IOTA and Monad. The validators run on bare-metal servers and several cloud providers in independent European data centers, with the anti-slashing software Dirk on Ethereum. For restaking on Ethereum, Twinstake works with EigenLayer and in August 2024 joined the first operator cohort of Symbiotic.
On 8 September 2025, holders of the LDO token approved with 59.5 million against 5.7 million votes a plan to move about 7,400 validators to Twinstake. Nethermind had run these Ethereum validators in the Curated Set of Lido and wanted to separate its protocol research from validator operations.
Custodians and wallets that connect to the staking service
Custody and staking are separate jobs in this model, because a crypto custodian keeps the keys and Twinstake runs the validator. Zodia Custody launched its marketplace Gateway in January 2024 with Twinstake as launch partner for staking. In August 2024 Twinstake joined the first Staking Partner Program of Hex Trust, where the private keys of the clients stay in the regulated custody of Hex Trust.
Since December 2024, institutions can stake TON through the MPC wallet of Utila with Twinstake as validator. The Twinstake API also works with Fireblocks, where many clients sign their staking transactions through the raw signing function of their MPC wallet.

What is Twinstake in crypto?
Twinstake is an institutional staking provider that runs validators for proof-of-stake tokens held by custodians, funds and ETP issuers. Twinstake never takes custody of these tokens, because its work is to operate the validators and to report the rewards to the client.
Where is Twinstake based?
Twinstake Ltd is a limited liability company registered in the Cayman Islands, and its handling of client data falls under the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act. The British company Twinstake UK Limited, company number 14203449, was incorporated on 29 June 2022 and has its registered office in London.
SOC 2 audits and sanctions screening
Twinstake reports that its operations are audited under SOC 2 Type I and Type II and that its validators carry external slashing insurance. Every client goes through KYC and anti-money laundering checks, and the Ethereum validators connect only to relays that filter out addresses on the OFAC sanctions list. The optional Compliance+ package adds wider transaction screening and lets clients choose validator locations and client software. Twinstake also builds reports for custodians along the lines of MiCA and the standards of the FATF.
How the staking API works with Fireblocks
The staking API returns ready-made staking and unstaking transactions that the client signs in its own wallet or custody system. Since February 2025, clients of Fireblocks can put the API response directly into a raw signing transaction for Ethereum, Cosmos, Injective, Dymension, Celestia, Osmosis, MANTRA, Solana and NEAR.
Who leads the company?
