Frankfurt Blockchain Week

Frankfurt Blockchain Week is the week in spring when the Crypto Assets Conference and the Digital Euro Conference take place in Frankfurt on two consecutive days. Both conferences are held on the campus of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and side events and evening meetups fill the days around them.

The next edition falls in April 2027, with CAC27 on Wednesday, 7 April, and DEC 2027 on Thursday, 8 April. The Crypto Assets Conference covers tokenization, crypto custody and capital market regulation, and the Digital Euro Conference covers central bank digital currencies, stablecoins and payments.

How the week came together

In Berlin, Paris or Vienna, a blockchain week bundles many independent events under one date range. Frankfurt has no single organizer who runs such a week as a whole. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management runs the Crypto Assets Conference, the Digital Euro Association runs the Digital Euro Conference, and the two dates have moved next to each other.

The idea of a blockchain week in the city is older than both dates. German Blockchain Week 2018 took place in Frankfurt from 21 to 25 October 2018, and Frankfurt School lists CAC 2019 as "the main event of the German Blockchain Week". In 2025 the two conferences fell on 26 and 27 March, and in 2026 on 25 and 26 March, each time on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Wednesday: tokenization and capital markets at CAC

The Crypto Assets Conference opens the week at Frankfurt School. For CAC26, Frankfurt School and Deutsche Börse Group hosted the conference together, and it drew more than 550 people on site and more than 3,000 online. The program starts from capital markets: tokenized securities, collateral management, crypto custody and the rules of MiCAR and the EU DLT Pilot Regime.

Frankfurt School has held the conference since 2018, first through the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center and today through its Centre for Digital Economics. Speakers come from banks, exchanges, asset managers, supervisory authorities and research.

Thursday: digital money at DEC

On the following day the Digital Euro Conference takes place at the same venue. Its organizer, the Digital Euro Association, is a Frankfurt think tank for central bank digital currencies, stablecoins and other digital money. Sessions have covered the design of a public digital euro, wholesale central bank money, programmable money, privacy and offline payments.

The audience comes from central banks, commercial banks, payment companies, policy and research. One past edition counted more than 300 attendees on site, more than 260 online participants and over 60 speakers.

Side events and meetups during the week

The days before the conferences and their evenings belong to smaller formats. In 2026 the week began on Monday, 23 March, with Supertour Germany, a Solana ideathon. On the Tuesday, the Bybit EU x Circle Roadshow held two panels on stablecoins. On the evening of CAC26, Finance Loop and Frankfurt Main Finance invited people working on institutional digital asset projects to the Digital Finance Night in the Nextower.

On the eve of CAC 2025, Finance Loop held TechClub 25/3 at TechQuartier, an afterwork party for guests from finance and crypto. Before CAC 2024, Finance Loop co-organized a side event at TechQuartier with a Chainlink panel on the future of finance.

When is Frankfurt Blockchain Week 2027?

Frankfurt Blockchain Week 2027 centers on Wednesday, 7 April, and Thursday, 8 April 2027. CAC27 takes place on the Wednesday and DEC 2027 on the Thursday, both at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Side events and meetups are usually announced in the weeks before the conferences.

Who organizes Frankfurt Blockchain Week?

The week has no central organizer or registration of its own. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management organizes the Crypto Assets Conference, and the Digital Euro Association organizes the Digital Euro Conference. Every side event has its own host, such as Finance Loop for its meetups during the week.

Is there one ticket for the whole week?

No, there is no ticket that covers the whole week. CAC and DEC each sell their tickets on their own websites, and the side events and meetups run their own registration.

Is the German Blockchain Week the same event?

No, German Blockchain Week was a series of events in Frankfurt in 2018 and 2019, with the Crypto Assets Conference as its main event in 2019. The German Blockchain & AI Week is a separate conference, and its 2025 edition took place in Berlin in June.

Address and directions to the campus

Both conferences take place at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Adickesallee 32-34, 60322 Frankfurt am Main. The subway station Miquel-/Adickesallee of lines U1, U2, U3 and U8 is next to the campus.

Frankfurt Blockchain Week and Finance Loop

Finance Loop was a partner of the Crypto Assets Conference over several years and a partner of DEC 2026. Tokenized securities and crypto custody belong to its Investment & Digital Assets track. Digital money and stablecoins belong to the Payments & Digital Money track.

Companies can add their own event to Frankfurt Blockchain Week with support from Finance Loop. As a meetup sponsor, a company presents its topic at a Finance Loop meetup during the week with up to 120 attendees, and Finance Loop handles the setup. With a hosted event, Finance Loop organizes a panel discussion or presentation for the company, with drinks and finger food on request. Both formats can run under the Frankfurt Blockchain Week name and branding.
